Device refuses to charge on base

40 minutes into unboxing and setting up device. Device refuses to go to base and charge. When manually placed devices decides to exit and map area instead. Need help or I will be returning

I had this issue and turns out the base station was off when I thought it was on. Once I flipped the switch on the back it docked without any issues
