Won’t return to dock

Brand new and refuses to return to its dock. Keeps wandering around the living room. Dock is plugged in and turned on.

Update: this thing is awful. I placed it on the dock and it seemed to lock in. Didn’t see any indication that it was charging so I looked at the app and there was a “Start charging” button. I tapped it and it is now wandering around my house again. Followed all of the instructions explicitly.

Update #2: ran out of charge and I had to manually place it on the dock. App says it’s offline now. Going back to Amazon. What a piece of junk.

Update #3: 6 hours later and device still won’t charge and is still officially “offline.” I assume that means it’s not connected to my wifi, but with no charge (apparently it’s not able to charge when offline) I can’t connect it to wifi. It’s a real life catch-22.

Update #4: I’m stunned at how worthless this $500 device is. I finally got a modest sign of life from it today by holding down the start button. It had a 4% charge so I went thru the connect to wifi routine. Then I once again tapped the start charging text and now it’s wandering around the house again, likely until it runs out of power. Where before the app said start charging it now says returning to charge. It is certainly taking the scenic route if that is in fact what it’s doing.

Update #5: while roaming around it gave the error in the attached photo. It was sitting on a level floor.

I just opened mine and went through mapping. It doesn't want to go back to the dock to charge. Having the exact same issues as previous review🤦
Can't use it without a charged battery. Seems like this will be going back to Amazon

This might sound so dumb but did you remove the sticker on the side of the robot? Mine was doing the same thing and there was a sticker to remove so that the robot could “see” where the charging dock is and be able to connect to it

This might sound so dumb but did you remove the sticker on the side of the robot? I hadn’t seen it on mine and it was blocking the robot from “seeing” the charging dock. As soon as I removed the sticker it stopped wandering around and went to be charged
