Ultra 40 360° wheel

We have a lot of dog fur. Over time, a lot of dog hair gets into the axles of the 360° steering/guide wheel. I do not see any way to pop out the wheel or clean out the accumulated dog fur. I have been using very narrow needle-nose pliers to break and pull out the fur. Is there a better way?
