Dreame l40 Ultra Cleaning Solution

Can someone please clarify the mop cleaning solution for Dreame l40? Instructions state that the cleaning solution from the small black tank that is beside the dust bag will mix with water from the clean water tank when cleaning the mop pads. However, I believe I have read that you must add cleaning solution to the clean water tank for mopping the floor.

If you think about it, the only clean water that is going on the floor must come from the clean water tank.  That is the only source of water to the machine.  I put one capful of the Dreams cleaning solution in a full tank of clean water.  This then is used for both cleaning the pads and is for cleaning your floors.  
By the way- don’t do what I did and wait for over a year before cleaning the mop pad area of your machine!  Clean it every other month or so and it will be a more pleasant process.  😬

I’ve got an L40s Ultra AE. I’ve got a couple of revisions I would suggest!
First, the robot cleans the mop pads upon return to the base, then it also cleans the mop pads before departing the base. This wastes time, water, solution, energy, etc… Pick one, either clean mop ads upon return to base (makes the most sense to me) or upon departing the base, NOT BOTH!
Second, the dirtiest place in my kitchen (and I assume everyone else’s) is under the 3” cabinet overhang near the floor. The robot will not clean under this overhang because the top sensor senses it can’t fit underneath the cabinet when it actually can. Update the software so it can use the bottom sensors to allow it to clean these areas as the larger perimeter of the robot can easily fit underneath the overhang to clean these areas!

L40 Gen 2 and no cleaning solution provided. Had to purchase through Amazon and had to get an additional accessory just to have the solution.

I also did not receive a cleaning solution bottle to add to my clean water tank… I just got the L40 ultra gen 2…

It is supposed to come with a small bottle of the cleaning solution, it’s supposed to be in the supplies box that comes with the machine.

I just unboxed the L40 Ultra gen 2 and I don’t see any solution. Is the cleaning solution part of item?

Dreame recommends their brand as the rep just stated in last sentence. I only use their brand as I don't want to clog up anything and it is low sudsing which it has to be.

Can i use any cleaning solution or does it have to be the specific brand?
