Vacuum will go in strange patterns and gets lost returning to base

I have a brand new (less than a few hours old) vacuum and unfortunately after performing the mapping function an setting it out to clean, it formulates really weird paths and when it gets to low battery knowingly goes to strange places and not back to the dock
