Vaccuum suction issue

My vaccuum was doing it's normal cleaning on carpet and I paused it to manually empty the bin.  I have 3 pets and do this frequently to clear out all the hair.   After replacing the bin, it sounded different.  It was much quieter than before and didn't seem to clean very well.   I checked to make sure there wasn't anything clogging it and that the roller didn't have hair tangled.   Everything appears fine but it still doesn't seem to have the same suction.   It still mops fine.  Has this happened to anyone else?

The vacuum is powerful but keeping them empty is the best way to keep the power all the way up
