Request X50 to mop only - but it starts to vacuum first?

I don't understand why this vacuum is not doing what is requested.  I set it to "mop only" to do "one room".  
This is the behavior:
- It picks up mop pads and heads to the room.  
- Stops at the room door, and immediatly starts blinking the "home" light and heads home.
- It then drops mop pads and heads back to the room requested to be mopped.
- It starts to vacuum, then blinks the "home" light and heads back home.
- It then picks up the mp pads and heads back to the room for mopping.

What is going on with the programming of this thing?

All software is up to date!
