Won’t return to dock

Brand new and refuses to return to its dock. Keeps wandering around the living room. Dock is plugged in and turned on.

Update: this thing is awful. I placed it on the dock and it seemed to lock in. Didn’t see any indication that it was charging so I looked at the app and there was a “Start charging” button. I tapped it and it is now wandering around my house again. Followed all of the instructions explicitly.
