Obstacle avoidance

My x30 ran over dog poop and got caught up all in the wheels and spread it around the house.. I thought it was supposed to have obstacle avoidance?

Oh my gosh! That actually happened to us once with an older vacuum. We got home and there was just poop dragged everywhere. My husband had to take the vacuum completely apart and clean it and I had to sanitize every floor. I can't answer your question but you have my sympathy.

Dear User:

Thank you for asking about the device cleaning pet feces. We recommend that you check it by following the steps below:

Our robot AI recognizes obstacles, which are affected by the environment. Insufficient light in the working environment will affect recognition, and dirty AI lenses will also affect recognition. In addition, pet feces are of different shapes or small in size, and the recognition angle of the robot AI camera is limited, which can easily lead to misidentification and other possible contact with pet feces;

If the device mistakenly cleans pet feces, please end the task immediately and turn off the device. Please manually clean the feces on the robot first, wipe the camera position to ensure cleanliness, wait for the device to dry, start the task in a well-lit environment and continue to observe and use.

If you have other questions or need further help, please feel free to contact us (support.na@dreame.tech).
Thank you again for your understanding and support!

Urgles!! I had that happen w/an older robotic vacuum (different brand.) I’ll say, it’s been one of the most impressive features of this vacuum. It has done an exemplary job of avoiding obstacles, including feces or anything anyone may have barfed up, pet toys, charging cords, etc. (& I Love that the camera takes a shot of the obstacle.)
Reading that you had such an incident w/Dreame makes me consider that maintaining the cameras, sensors, etc. & keeping them clean is of utmost importance!
Hope neither of us ever has to deal w/something like this again!
