The robot stops recognizing the map a few minutes after the cleaning starts.

Hello,

For the past couple of months, I have been experiencing an issue with the robot. When I place it in a specific room, it loses its course: it starts zigzagging, moving back and forth without following the route, and eventually stops cleaning. I have noticed that it begins the cleaning cycle properly, but at some point (not always at the same spot), it stops recognizing the map and starts moving erratically around the room. Also, obstacles that it initially detects correctly are later shown in the wrong location.

At first, I thought this was due to dirty sensors, but I have thoroughly cleaned them and the problem remains. This only happens in that particular carpeted room; in the rest of the house it works fine (including another carpeted room and the vinyl wood-style flooring).

Thank you in advance for your support.

I have an X40 and experienced the same thing. I found doing a power cycle, by holding the power button for 10 seconds to turn it off, waiting 1 minute, and pressing the power button again for 3 seconds to turn it on, cleared the problem. I'm not sure what caused the issue, maybe it's memory was corrupted or became too full, but a power cycle was one solution.

Hi,

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Clean and wipe the main wheels. Ensure no debris affects its normal operation, and it can rebound properly when pressed.
2. Wipe the sensors to make sure no foreign objects are stuck, and they can rebound normally when tapped gently. Then restart the robot and try again.
3. Check if there is map overlap or map offset on the APP.
4. We noticed that your carpet material may cause the device’s drive wheels to get stuck, affecting cleaning. Could you confirm if the other carpeted room uses the same carpet material but without the issue?

If the above troubleshooting steps are ineffective, please contact us at support.na@dreame.tech.
