Cliff sensors struggling on my black wood floor
I have Blackwood floors in our bedroom and I just got the new dream X 50 trying to create the map and the Cliff sensors keep going off. Should I try to start the mapping in another room that does not have dark floors or tape off the sensors for the mapping any thoughts?

Hi,

When the robot cleans dark-colored areas, such as dark or black carpets/mats or hollowed-out floor drains, the cliff sensor at the bottom of the robot may be falsely triggered by the dark color, causing the robot to get stuck.

It is recommended to start mapping in a room with non-dark floors.

Taping the sensors may lead to navigation issues or may also trigger cliff sensor errors.

After mapping, it is advisable to set up no-go zones to avoid dark carpets, mats, or floor drain areas.

After a while cleaning cycle, the rooms look and feel first still. I’ve only had the machine for about a month.
