Edge and furniture leg cleaning

I just purchased a new Dreame L40 Ultra from Amazon. I got it because of its ability to clean edges, corners and furniture legs. However, it isn’t extending the side brush frequently along edges and under cabinets. For furniture legs, it seems to do a ‘3 point turn’ if that makes sense, which I assume is intentional, but the side brush doesn’t extend during that time.

My settings:

AI driven side reach on
AI driven mop extend on
Mop extension for gap cleaning on
Intensive cleaning for furniture legs on
Frequency: high frequency

Ive tried turning off intelligent obstacle avoidance and collision avoidance mode, it didn’t do anything.

I’ve only ever seen the side brush extend in corners. How do I get it to extend along walls/edges and furniture?

I read on a forum that you suggest adding a ‘low hanging area’ to the map, but I don’t see this as an option. I tried adding a curtain and virtual wall to the areas, but that didn’t work.

I just wanted to add: I don’t think the furniture leg cleaning is an issue. The ‘3 point turn’ actually did a pretty good job. So it’s mainly the edges, particularly with low hanging cabinets.

1. Side Brush Extension Scenarios
The L40 Ultra’s side brush is designed to extend in the following specific situations:
When the robot detects an inner right-angle corner during cleaning, the side brush will extend to clean the gap and retract once the robot moves away from the corner.
The side brush will extend for embedded cleaning under furniture that is 5 cm higher than the robot’s bumper height.

2. Function & Setting Clarifications
The “Add low-lying area” feature is not supported by the L40 Ultra model.
