[L40 Ultra] Side brush lifts up mid cleaning

Reading Mode

In vacuum/mop mode I have it to work at the same time. For some reason there are areas that it lifts the brush and only mops. This makes no sense because the spot right after it puts it back down. How can I stop the brush from lifting up? I need it to brush all the time. I only have hard wood all over and plastic mats in kitchen.
