X50 Ultra crating 'phantom' spaces and getting lost

After working flawlessly for months, my X50 Ultra is now creating phantom spaces that don't exist (see room map below) and it gets disoriented and can't find its way back to its base.  When I restore the original map, the restored map looks perfect - until I edit it (to remove a 'low-lying area' that now longer exists) when it inexplicably relocates the base station on the map.

I have the same issue. First, I'd try cleaning the sensors on the vacuum and if that doesn't fix the issue try deleting the map and remap your house/apartment. I was able to fix mine by remapping my place, but it could always be dirty sensors so you should try that first. Hope it helps.

I have a different model, but after a year of cleaning the entire main floor, usually moving chairs and end tables out of the way (but not always) the adjustments it makes to the map eventually confused it. Oh, and when I changed the angle of the base station, the whole map was re-drawn at an angle! And, it was superimposed on the old map. Look like my main floor have been through an earthquake.

My solution was to let it go explore a new map. Kind of a pain, but went much faster the second time, as I understand the app better.

Also, on my map, I have something similar to your phantom areas. One is actually my back deck, which the radar could see well enough through the sliding glass doors, to think maybe I wanted it to go there, lol. The others, are partial staircases, where it could see a certain distance.  Sometimes it maps those as a separate room, sometimes not. If not, I do split those areas off to a separate room. And/or, make use of a virtual wall, or no-go zone, especially if you are in the habit of turning it loose to do the entire map at once. Since I often furniture move, I tend to select rooms separately, to allow me a place to move furniture to, where I won't be interfering with my bot.
