I had to grease the very front wheelthe one that turns 360° really well with a dry silicone spray lube called blaster. I do live on the beach, so WD-40 isn’t an option here as it is in most other places is a quick easy lubricant but either one works great.
I’ve only had mine for 3 months but use it daily. It’s know squeaking so loud the in all cleaning modes. I have cleaned all the wheels & parts but continues.
Which L40 version do you have…Ultra, S, CE, or AE?
I suspect the noise is coming from the TriCut brush. I recently bought the L40 AE and tracked a similar squeak by removing the side brush, mop pads, and TriCut brush, then running short test cleanings. I added each part back one at a time, and the noise only appeared once the TriCut brush was installed.
It seems like friction in the brush’s internal rod. A good test is to swap in the stock rubber brush and see if the noise goes away. After identifying it, I cleaned the TriCut brush (even though it was only a week old). There was some hair wrapped around the ends. I removed the end cap, cleaned it, reinstalled everything, and the noise became much less noticeable.
When my Dreame was squeaking, I opened up the area that all the yuckies are vacuumed into. There was a piece of wood about 1/2 inch wide and about 3” long. It was stuck and I had to pry it out. There was a lot of hair also around it. It did stop whistling after that.
Mine did that and a sprayed the wheel with liquid wrench and it stopped immediately. In about a month, the squeak was back and I sprayed again and squeak was gone.
